Simona Fontana is the new General Manager of the National Packaging Consortium. Born in 1980, she holds a degree in Economics of Public Administrations and International Institutions, as well as a Master's in Economics of Public Utilities from Bocconi University. She joined CONAI in 2008 as a senior analyst, following various experiences in research and consulting firms. Over the years, she expanded her activities into the field of environmental impact prevention of packaging, taking on the role of technical secretariat of the Prevention Working Group. In 2014, she became head of the Prevention Area, and in 2022, she was appointed as the director of the CONAI Circular Economy Studies Center, where she coordinates activities related to institutional projects, reporting, studies, and research on the circular economy. She oversees the development and promotion of tools for businesses related to ecodesign and the modulation of the CONAI environmental contribution, liaising with associations, ministries, and competent authorities.
