Alessandra
Prampolini
Director General - WWF Italy
Alessandra Prampolini has a background in economics for international cooperation and development, consistently focusing on the analysis and resolution of global and local imbalances, particularly concerning access to and use of natural resources. Shortly after graduating, she first joined WWF in Italy, where over the years, she has been involved in projects, processes, and partnerships dedicated to environmental sustainability. She then spent several years in a company conducting research on environmental and social issues within European projects, working as a project manager with numerous institutions and universities both within and outside the European Union. Deeply interested in the delicate balance between current growth models, human well-being, and the protection of the planet, she gained extensive experience in building public and private partnerships. She returned to WWF in 2018, initially in Italy and later as the coordinator of an international program. Since January 2021, she has served as the General Director of WWF Italy, becoming the first woman to hold the position in 55 years. She is committed to ensuring that the association plays an increasingly prominent role in shaping a new world where responsibility and sustainability are the rules, not exceptions, in politics, the economy, and our daily lives.
